Kept on dropping my phone and with my heart pounding picking it up hoping for the best..well one of the times i wasn't so lucky & found myself staring at a cracked screen. I have a sprint plan and of course didn't get insurance thinking nah nothing is ever going to happen. Contacted Samsung being that my phone was still under warranty and of course a cracked screen is not under warranty. However for a small fee of $200 they can have it fixed in about 2 weeks!!!!!!

So I went looking on Amazon for a replacement screen and behold I find one for $11, did a quick you tube search of replacing Galaxy S4 glass and found a couple of productive videos, the only thing that really scared me was that everybody was writing to be very very careful when removing the damaged screen as to not damage the digitizer which is directly under the glass and stuck on with some sort of adhesive. After a little thinking I decided to go ahead and buy the replacement and fix it myself.

The Fixing: Here is the way I did it, please note this was my first time replacing any cellphone glass on my own with just a youtube clip to aid me. the tools you need is the picks, pry tool and suction. You will NOT need and screwdriver, there is no need to dissemble your phone the glass can be replaced from the front! So first thing is to have a hot air gun (A blow dry would do) and blow it over your phone for about five minutes to loosen the adhesvie. Next use the pick to start prying it up, start from a corner where its most easy, slowly work your way around the edges. This part is the most important as I mentioned before, you do not want to ruin the digitizer, so please be patient and try not to force it, the adhesive is only on the edges of the glass not the center so you dont have to dig to deep, this part took me around 20 min. Also be the most careful on the bottom of the glass where the home button and the back and menu buttons are to not rip it off ( I came close to doing that). Once you got the screen off you can use a paper towel and windex to wipe down the digitizer, I did not spray directly on to the phone just sprayed on the paper towel and gently wiped my phone down. Next take the replacement screen and before you put it on make sure the buttons on the bottom is in the right place and then slowly put the new screen on and squeeze down along the edges, there should be enough adhesive there still from the old screen to hold it. As an added bind I ran the hot air gun along the edges just to be sure and whalla you got yourself a brand new phone.

I rarely, if ever, write reviews on products that I buy online. In this case, I felt like I had to. There is nothing extraordinarily remarkable about this product, except for the fact that it does exactly what it is supposed to do. My wife shattered the glass on her Galaxy S4, and we were quoted $200 by the carrier and $275 by the local repair shop.

I watched a handful of Youtube videos covering the removal of the glass ONLY. Using a heat gun and infrared thermometer, I was able to warm the glue up enough to slowly -- and I mean SLOWLY -- separate the glass from the LED screen. The green pry-up tools proved to be the difference because the edge was sharp enough to wedge between the glass and the frame. After the old glass was off, it took about 30 minutes to clean off the glue residue that was left behind.

Like I said, the tools in this kit are nothing special.. This 5-star review is based on the fact that, using this kit and a ton of patience, you can save yourself about 80-90% on the cost of replacing the GLASS on your phone.
