good grip

i wanted a case that could provide good drop protection and grip. i browsed quite a bit for protective cases and i tried the ballastic SG but it didn't have enough grip, it was still too easy to slip out of my hands or off my lap when driving, etc. it was a nice case otherwise with good protection. this case has a kind of hard, rubber texture that makes it more grippy. it's not like a soft gel material, so it can slide if given enough force but i think it's just the right amount of grip. i've dropped it a couple times without any damage to the case or phone.

the screen protector is not very impressive but i never did have a preference to them. it's a two piece design, the screen protector and the case. i am going to try the screen for a few more days and see if i decide to keep it on. otherwise it looks like you can just pop the screen right off the frame that it's attached to. unfortunately, you can't use the bottom protective case without the top part (screen) connected to the phone, they lock in place to create the seal. i don't think it's really necessary for me as the S4 screen is quite tough.

the phone case feels a little loose overall but just the slightest bit. i'm not sure if that's part of the design as it almost feels like the phone is slightly floating inside the case. like, there's a bit of an air pocket to absorb impacts. it's gives a bit more bulk and weight to the phone but it still feels slim. for this kind of protection you can't get much slimmer.

****UPDATE****
after less than a week of daily use, i got tired of the screen protector and removed the screen. i was able to pop the screen off the frame with minimal effort. there is a layer of sticky tape arpund the outer edges of the frame. if you're careful you can pull off the whole thing cleanly. but i was able to get the glue residue of with some "goo gone". the frame isn't loose at all without the screen. i like the feel of the phone much better now and it doesn't effect in any perceivable way how the case locks together. a nice case.

Great case

This case is slim and lightweight. All cut outs are aligned properly. I have dropped my phone a few times and so far all is intact. Would highly recommend.
