Stylish, Fits Perfectly, Offers Good Protection

I have now tested this case, the Incipio DualPro, Spigen Neo Hybrid and Slim Armor and I must say that for the time being this has become my daily driver. It's very stylish, fitting the lines of the phone perfectly, as you'd expect from an OEM case and the material build quality generally feels much higher quality than that of either of the Spigen's and equal to that of the Incipio, with perhaps a few points above the Incipio in some areas.

What I like most about the case is that it's not overly slippery thanks to its rubberized sides, matches the phone quite well and the lip size is arguably the best of any case. It's not too slim (like the Spigen to me) that it seems like it offers little to no protection if placed face down and it's not too thick like some of the more protective cases (Incipio DualPro) that it may hinder with gestures or the home button. The back of the case is also slightly padded for added protection and I've gotten some comments that people didn't even realize a case was on the phone because of the look. Very nice indeed.

Because it's a hard case, it's slightly heavier than the Incipio DualPro and equal to the Spigen Slim Armor. The buttons are a little stiff, much like the Spigen as well, but not uncomfortably so. The material is more of a matte finish with sheen, whereas the Spigen Slim Armor is straigh glossy. In my option, this case by Samsung wins here and if you had to choose between this and the Spigen Slim Armor, go with the Samsung one unless gloss is your thing. It's hard to compare with the Incipio because that case offers more protection. As it stands, I use the Samsung case as my daily driver and I kept the Incipio for days I want a little more protection.

High quality

This is a good case, although not perfect.

Pros:
-It fits perfectly, as expected of an official Samsung product
-The manufacturing is very, very good. I found no defects on mine, and in general it is a very clean build that looks like it was manufactured to high standards.
-The buttons are very easy to press through the case, and they stick out, making them easy to access.
-The material, in my opinion, looks more premium than most other cheapy TPU cases, or the S4's back cover itself
-Fingerprints are less obvious on this case
-There are little details such as an impact absorption area on the back that show attention to detail.
-Navy blue matches the black S4 very well

Cons:
-Unfortunately, and this is the reason why I docked a star, the edges of the case do not taper down. This doesnt sound like a big deal, but it makes a difference, especially on the front. The front edges of the case are thus raised 1.5-2mm above the glass, and its squared off. Its not that comfortable to touch it because your finger is pushing on a corner, and it can get in the way. Even cheap $4 cases I've bought taper their edges.
-The price.. I feel it's worth $15-20, MSRP is $30 right now
-The grip. Its not the grippiest material, although its certainly not bad.

Lastly, I feel that the case is thicker than necessary, especially the back of the case. Im not saying this is a con because its just my opinion. The case is about 2.5mm thick, in total with the case, the phone is about 10mm thick. I don't believe the back needs to be all that thick because usually only corner or front impacts on the phone really hurt it. The back could be thinner which would reduce the bulk of the phone. However, it is really no thicker than TPU/rubber cases, so if youre not nitpicking it wont matter.

Possibly the Best Case ever designed for the S4

I'm really impressed with this navy blue original bumper case designed by Samsung. I also have a casemate slim case with a similar design and a smoke colored TPU case by amazon basics but ever since I recieved this case, it has been my primary case. The navy blue color is awesome and slightly metallic looking which is cool. It actually looks better in person than in the photos. Also, this case is very thin! It's as thin as my TPU case... which was a total surprise because my casemate slim case is much thicker than this either of those cases. Although I'm usually not a fan of cases which cover up the buttons on the sides, this case allows the buttons to work perfectly without having to push any harder on them. In fact, the buttons work just as good inside the case... another great surprise. You even still get that tactile feel/feedback when you are pushing down the buttons. This leads me to believe that they spent lots of time and energy making and perfecting the look, feel, and functions of this case! The fit is perfect and it's very easy to put this thing on and off the phone.

Another good example is that the bumper material that goes around the sides and extends over the screen a bit has a nice slightly rubbery feel to it that makes the case feel nice in my hands and more grippy. The material itself is substantial enough to offer some protection for the sides and screen. I found this out by accidentally dropping my phone off of my table at work... about a 3 foot fall onto the hard floor! It landed on it's top right side first, and then flipped onto the screen side down. My phone survived unscathed! Although the case did get a tiny scuff on the rubbery side that it landed on, I was very happy that my phone was protected.

All in all, this may be the most perfect cell phone case I have ever owned. To make that statement is a huge deal for me... and I have owned many, many phone cases through the years. It was exactly what I was hoping for in a phone case... something very well designed, attractive, perfect fit, slim, and offers good protection. Because it meets all of these requirements, I feel that I must give it a full 5 Stars. I would really recommend it to anymone. The only thing I wish is that the case came in even more colors. For example, dark teal, burgundy red, and hunter green :)

Pros:
-Superb design, fit and finish
-Ports are all easily accessible.
-Bumper around sides and screen provide good protection and added grip.
-Very slim! About the same thickness as those transparent TPU cases
-Great paint job on the navy blue. It looks slightly metallic too, which is awesome.
-Buttons are covered by case but their functions aren't impeded by the design at all! They work just as good with the case on. This was a big suprise because I usually like cases with open button ports.

Cons:
-Nothing. This case is amazing. Samsung did a great job designing it!
